What is development coaching?

Development coaching is a supportive, goal-focused process that helps individuals grow both personally and professionally by increasing self-awareness, skills, and effectiveness. Personal development coaching focuses on mindset, confidence and values. With Professional development, including leadership, communication, and career progression. Through reflection, feedback, and guided action, development coaching empowers individuals to build confidence, strengthen decision-making, and develop greater autonomy so they can take ownership of their growth and perform at their best in work and life.

How does DISC psychometric profiling fit into coaching?

DISC psychometric profiling enhances development coaching by providing a clear, practical framework for understanding an individual’s behavioural preferences, communication style, and motivators. By increasing self-awareness and awareness of others, it helps to recognise strengths, blind spots, and stress responses, leading to more effective communication and relationships. Within development coaching, DISC supports targeted personal and professional growth by building confidence, improving adaptability, and encouraging greater autonomy as individuals learn how to consciously flex their behaviour to achieve goals and perform more effectively.

How does Be more roo work?

Be more roo tailors everything to your needs, if its 1:1 personal coaching, then this can take place on an ad hoc basis, although for real development and progress to be made, a minimum of 6 sessions is recommended. These sessions can take place online, on the phone or in person (dependant on locality).Professional coaching can take place on a contractual basis. We can again, tailor to your needs, be that as an in house coach that is based in your workspace (physically or online) on a weekly or fortnightly basis, or for DISC profiling day with subsequent follow up coaching sessions. We're flexible and happy to discuss any specific needs, always looking to accomodate and be as accessible as we can.

Dave

Sue created a safe and supportive space, which was especially important given the deeply personal nature of the conversation....One of the most valuable aspects of our sessions was how Sue helped me to narrow down the broad scope of my concerns into more manageable pieces.
Lily
Head of Psychology, West Sussex
Sue’s DISC profiling proved to be hugely insightful. It’s raised my self awareness as a senior leader and made a positive impact with how I communicate and motivate the teams and individuals I line manage. She struck the right balance between challenging us and enabling us to notice the positivity in our workplace.
